Each child is a unique individual
and worthy of time and attention. Your child’s
well check is our time with you and your child
to emphasize healthy lifestyles, address health
concerns, discuss behaviors, etc. It is our
time to singularly focus on your child. Thus
we ask you schedule an appointment slot that
allows you plenty of unhurried and unencumbered
time.
Role modeling and adopting a proactive
approach to your child’s healthcare
carries forward into adulthood. Promoting
healthy lifestyles begins at home and it
begins at a very early age. We encourage
you to talk with your child about the importance
of routine check-ups, particularly as they
enter adolescence.
Immunizations are an important
component of preventive healthcare. We promote
good health, and we advocate along with the
American Academy of Pediatrics, the Center
for Disease Control, and the Advisory Committee
on Immunization Practices (ACIP) routinely
receiving vaccinations. We recognize there
are risks in receiving routine vaccinations.
We recognize there is nothing “routine”
about vaccinations. They are only “routine”
in the sense they have a recommended administration
schedule to achieve maximum immunogenicity
and efficacy. However, we believe the morbidity
and mortality associated with the disease
far outweighs the risk associated with any
side effects.
We want our parents to be
informed about the vaccines their child
receives. We want them to understand why
we advocate vaccination for their child.
Prior to vaccination you will receive information
regarding the vaccines your child is to
receive. We are always happy to discuss
your concerns.
