| Daniel R. Terwelp earned his
undergraduate degree from the University of
Texas at Austin in 1972 while also a member
of the 1969 and 1970 National Championship
Football Team. He received his medical degree
from the University of Texas Medical School
at Houston in 1975. Dr. Terwelp completed
three years internship and residency training
in pediatrics in 1978 at the University of
Colorado Medical Center in Denver with affiliations
at Denver Children’s Hospital, University
Hospital, and Denver General Hospital. He
served a fourth year in pediatrics as Chief
Resident for 70 interns and residents along
with his appointment to the teaching faculty
at the University of Colorado Medical Center.
Dr. Terwelp is Board certified in pediatrics
by the American Board of Pediatrics.
In 1979, he returned
to Austin to begin private practice as a
member of a pediatric group practice. He
began his own practice in January, 1998.
Dr. Terwelp has served the pediatric community
in several roles that include Chief of Pediatrics
at Brackenridge Childrenís Hospital
and St. David's Hospital. He has
also provided leadership as President of
the Austin Pediatric Society and President
of the Central Texas Pediatric Physicians
Alliance. Dr. Terwelp has volunteered at
the Caritas Medical Clinic seeing pediatric
patients for over 20 years as well as serving
as a Caritas Board Member. He has worked
tirelessly on behalf of all children in
Central Texas with his continued and active
involvement at the Childrenís Hospital.
He has been a strong supporter of the Childrenís
Miracle Network Telethon and has served
as a Brackenridge Foundation Board Member.

Originally
from San Antonio, Dr. Terwelp has called
Austin home for the last 20+years. He is
married; he and his wife have two sons.
Chris completed his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech. He is co-owner/principal of TORC Technologies, LLC which specializes in autonomous and unmanned vehicle technology and robotics platforms. His wife, Ginny, completed
her Masters in Early Childhood Education
and is currently a kindergarten teacher
in Blacksburg, VA where they reside. Matthew completed
his business degree in Accounting from SMU
and currently works for Ryan and Co.,
a corporate tax consulting firm in Dallas. His wife, Christina, is a management consultant for Booz Allen. Both Matt and Christina are transitioning to San Francisco, CA.
Dr.
Terwelp enthusiastically enjoys road cycling,
running, and all athletics.

Dr.
Jennifer Jones joined our staff as a part-time
physician in 2003. Dr. Jones grew up in
Houston and attended Rice University. She
completed her medical degree in Dallas at
the University of Texas Southwestern Medical
School. She completed her three years of
pediatric training also in Dallas at Southwestern
Medical School. After finishing her pediatric
residency, she and her husband moved to
Atlanta where she joined a group practice
for a short period of time. Her husband's
job sent them north to Long Island, New
York where she spent 3 years working in
a small private practice. Dr. Jones is a
Board certified pediatrician by the American
Board of Pediatrics.
Dr.
Jones is happy to return to Texas and be
closer to family. She and her husband have
a two children; a daughter, Faith, and a son, Morgan.
Dr. Jones will be working part-time in our
office on a ½ day basis, four days
per week. Her other job is Mom! She will
be the physician covering when Dr. Terwelp
is out of the office. She is currently accepting
new patients and newborns into her practice. |

Nursing
Staff
Our nursing staff is simply the best! Beverly
and Kim share the nursing role in our office.
Beverly, RN, is new to our staff.
Her vast experience has included
pediatrics, ob-gyn, and allergy. Kim, LVN,
has worked with Dr. Terwelp for many years.
In addition to her office based pediatric
experience, she has worked as a hospital
nurse at Children's Hospital and part-time
school nurse. Additionally, Janet and Robin will fill-in occasionally as nurses. Both are RNs with extensive experience in pediatric ICU and OB-GYN. We think it is important
that medical advice and immunization administration
be performed ONLY by qualified, licensed RN or
LVN professionals.
Medical
Assistants
Our Medical Assistants, Renee and Abby, are the happy,
smiling faces that greet your children as
they head to the exam room. Our MAs
are well trained and personable. Both
have extensive experience in working with
children.
Clerical/ Insurance /
Billing Staff
Our support staff is very enthusiastic about
helping you in every possible way.
Jeanna is performs the role as receptionist.
She can assist you in scheduling appointments, answering
your non-medical questions and appropriately
triaging all urgent calls to the nurse.
Wendy, our office manager, touts 10 years
in managing pediatric practices. She has
extensive knowledge in management and comes
to us with extensive expertise in insurance
and billing related issues. Feel free to
rely on any of these staff members for information.
